Public History

As a Public History student at Flagler College, you'll do more than read about the past. You'll learn it, live it, and help preserve it.  You'll also get real-world experience with two required internships in and around St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city. Program Requirements

Our courses do more than teach you history. They make you a historian. Learn through study, research, internships, and community projects. At Flagler College, you'll collect oral histories, research historic buildings, log artifacts, and create exhibits.

History is everywhere, and so are we. Public History students gain hands-on practice with group projects. Public History majors complete two internships, too.

Flagler College offers a major in Public History. We also offer two minors: Public History for History Majors and Public History for Non-Majors.

Every student at Flagler College also gets a broad-based education with Core, our groundbreaking general education program. At Flagler, we're dedicated to educating the whole person. We foster intellectual, social, and personal transformation in our students.
