Why did you choose to work at Flagler?
After working in the Financial Aid world since 2015, I wanted to work at a private school so that I could have more one-on-one interaction with students than I did when I worked at larger state schools.
The dynamic at Flagler is amazing, and it's also a bonus that I am within a couple hour's drive from my family instead of a one- or two-day drive.

There is so much to do and so many different activities that it is an adventure every day. My favorite thing is finding little gems like used bookstores in the area.
Tip(s) for students applying for financial aid
Start early and stay on top of it! Always check your school-issued email account because that is how Flagler College will communicate with you.
Never stop applying for outside scholarships. Try to apply for one scholarship a day. Save your scholarship essays, and always have someone else proofread them! Get creative with your scholarship searches as well!
Tip(s) for parents applying for financial aid
Create a financial aid file on your computer so that everything is in one place. Encourage your student(s) to take responsibility for their financial aid, but also be there to help them if need be.
Never be afraid to ask questions! Remember, there is no such thing as a 'silly question.' Honestly, a majority of parents ask us the same questions every day. Just remember you are not alone. We are here to help!
