Describe your central passion(s) and how you hope to carry that into your post-grad plans:

I intend to combine my love of digital media production with my enthusiasm for storytelling, particularly stories about the environment, art, culture, and travel. I'm interested in finding a job with a company that has a strong environmental focus, such as National Geographic or Outdoor Magazine.

What (or who) helped inspire your passion in this area (or areas)?

I always knew that I wanted a career where I would be able to travel as much as possible, be outdoors, and have creative freedom within my work. My biggest inspiration is Alice Aedy, she is a documentary photographer and filmmaker.  She is a creative storyteller focused on telling human stories of those on the frontlines of the climate crisis, refugee crisis and the fight for women’s rights. My parents and my little sisters have also been my biggest supporters throughout my college career, I am forever grateful for all that they sacrificed for me over the years.

Briefly tell us the story of one stand-out memory from your time at Flagler that will always make you smile:

One of my favorite memories from my time at Flagler is the summer I spent studying abroad in Italy. In addition to learning more about travel writing, I was able to fully immerse myself in the local culture.

What academic resources, experiences, or mentors proved most valuable throughout your Flagler experience?

Professor Gehring was undoubtedly one of my very first professors who influenced me the most, she gave me the confidence to pursue my major freshman year. She genuinely inspired me to want to know more about the media industry. Throughout the years that I took production classes with Dr. Serenati and Dr. Halcomb, I valued everything I learned from them as well.

What is one piece of advice or lesson you learned about the college experience that you wish you could tell your freshman year self?

One piece of advice that I would tell my freshman year self is to value your metal health above all else. Literally nothing is more important, take the time to check in on yourself.

A quote that helps ground me:

“It is the experiences, the memories, the great triumphant joy of living to the fullest extent in which real meaning is found." - Jon Krakauer

Tell us about what you’re up to next! Any cool experiences, professional positions, or unique opportunities you have lined up after graduation?

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to work as a Production Assistant for a television program that airs on the SEC network. I am currently on the job search right now, looking for my next opportunity. I am looking at possibly traveling abroad for a little while and meeting new people.
