Describe your central passion(s) and how you hope to carry that into your post-grad plans:

My central passions mix both business and sport. I am extremely passionate about marketing female sports equal to the way that male sports teams are marketed. I want to help with gender inequality in sports and inspire young female athletes to empower one another to stand up for what they deserve. I hope to one day own a volleyball club and market it extremely well. By the same token, I would love to be a marketing director for a professional female sports team. I also have a great passion for Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) compensation in collegiate athletics and would love to help kids that cannot afford tuition find a way to be on their dream roster by signing deals with companies.

What (or who) helped inspire your passion in this area (or areas)?

My mom is the reason I was inspired to have this passion for marketing in sports. Gender discrimination in sports as a female athlete and coach is so common yet there has been a significant change compared to when she played. She has always told me to never give up and to stand up for what I believe in, even if it is a huge risk to myself.

Briefly tell us the story of one stand-out memory from your time at Flagler that will always make you smile:

A moment to remember from Flagler that will always make me smile is winning the conference tournament championship with the best group of girls as a senior for the first time in my career and collapsing on the court with my team.

What academic resources, experiences, or mentors proved most valuable throughout your Flagler experience?

Honors program: I got to meet people that I probably would've never met, and this program pushed me to my limits as a student and I was able to create so many amazing projects to help me find out what I want to do after I leave college.

Mentors: My two favorite and only marketing professors Dr. Maletta. and Dr. Woodhouse always believed in me and had so much fun in their classes learning marketing techniques and preparing us for the real world.

Experiences: The Pulitzer Center & Global Issues class was my favorite course at Flagler. I do not see myself as the best writer. But in that class, I learned how to be a better writer and expand my knowledge on global issues that I would not have known about otherwise.

What is one piece of advice or lesson you learned about the college experience that you wish you could tell your freshman year self?

One piece of advice I would give to my freshman-year-self is to understand that your path doesn’t have to be exactly the way that you planned it to be. You’ll be surprised about how high your ceilings truly are.

Tell us about what you’re up to next! Any cool experiences, professional positions, or unique opportunities you have lined up after graduation?

My plan is to move to Gainesville, Florida following graduation to pursue a graduate certificate in Social Media Journalism and play on their volleyball team as a Gator. Look out for us at the National Championships in Tampa this coming Fall!
