How long have you been at Flagler, what is your position and what does it entail?
I have been at Flagler for one year as the Assistant Director of Housing Operations. I oversee the operational aspect of Residence Life including, but not limited to; housing assignments, working with our Facilities Department on room conditions, overseeing Facilities Coordinators, and working with campus partners to improve policies and procedures in Residence Life.
What do you enjoy most about working at Flagler?
I love giving back to the school that made me the person I am today. To be on the "other side" and help build a support system for our students is extremely rewarding and something I never would have dreamed about doing when I was a student here.
What is a stand-out memory you have from interacting with students?
A stand-out memory that I have is seeing a light "click" with my students in my FYS course as they thought about the ways in which society impacts them. It was a moment where I believe they finally saw that the world outside of them impacts them, their identities, and the ways in which they express those identities. It was extremely rewarding to see.
What is your proudest moment, personally or professionally?
My proudest moment was seeing my research published for the first time. To see that the work that I have been working on for three years get published and be in writing is a feeling like one that I have never felt before.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be any why?
I would love to meet my great-grandfather who helped bring our family to this country and started our roots here in the United States.
If you could choose anywhere in the world to travel, where would you go and why?
I would go to Italy as that is where my family is from and I would love to see the town that we originate from.
