
Allan Marcil
Professional Profile
Professor Marcil launched his film and television career in the graduate film program at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts after earning a BA in English from the University of Rochester. Subsequently, he developed a producing and writing career in film and television, where he produced, executive-produced, and created over 100 hours of television, including Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated productions.
Allan moved from Los Angeles to St. Augustine, earning an MA in English and beginning a second academic career. He is a member of The Writer’s Guild of America. He remains active as a writer while teaching Screenwriting for film and TV at Flagler and other courses in the English and Communication Departments.
In the Spring of 2022, Prof. Marcil and Dr. Yvan Kelly took a FlagSHIP class to Los Angeles to study diversity in the Entertainment Business.
