Meteorologist Tim Deegan – Keynote Speaker for Science Week Kickoff
Hear from Tim Deegan as he discusses his passion for science and how weather forecasting has changed over the 42 years he's been in the profession.
Tim Deegan is the Chief Meteorologist at First Coast News, where he broadcasts the weather on weekday evening newscasts. He joined First Coast News in 1982 and has been there ever since. Before that, he worked at KRIS in Corpus Christi, Texas, and KBTX in Bryan, Texas.
Tim is well known for his community involvement and especially for his interest in teaching kids about meteorology. He spends a great deal of his free time working with his wife, Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan, on her foundation, the Donna Foundation, which is dedicated to helping those living with breast cancer. Tim and Donna have five children and four grandchildren. When he's not sharing the wonders of the weather, you will likely find Tim spending time in or around the ocean.
