When Letti Bozard graduated from Flagler College in l997, she had no idea that one day she would be tapped to be the keynote speaker at one of the College’s preeminent fundraisers. Called the Power of the Purse®, the event is sponsored by the Women of Vision Advisory Board and is designed to raise scholarship funds and increase educational opportunities for deserving women at the College.

The Eighth Annual Power of the Purse® will take place on May 11, 2023, featuring a silent auction of designer handbags and other unique items, a raffle of fine jewelry, and a live auction of several exciting vacation excursions.

Guests will then gather in the Grand Dining Room of historic Ponce de Leon Hall to enjoy a luncheon catered by La Cocina restaurant and an intriguing program featuring Letti Bozard as keynote speaker.

Letti is a native of the St. Augustine area, was born in Palatka, and was educated in St. Augustine and Jacksonville before receiving her degree in business administration from Flagler College.  She earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University while her then-husband was stationed at a Naval base in the area.  “I was being a wife, raising a child, and taking business courses,” she remembers. “I had nothing to do with flying planes.”

Her career in the automotive industry began when Letti joined her family’s local Ford dealership more than 20 years ago.  Bozard Ford Lincoln, where she currently serves as Vice President, was opened by her grandparents in l949. It was through this family business that she developed her unique management philosophy and leadership style. She has developed a deep-rooted commitment to giving back to her community.  Letti sees the company as an example in the automotive industry, where people-focused versus profit-focused strategies create a sustainable business model for the future.

Letti, her brother, Bo, and their team at Bozard Ford Lincoln have taken a small-town company to dizzying heights. The result is a dealership that ranks seventh in sales in the country out of over 2,900 dealers nationally.

Such success in business often interferes with one’s personal life, but whenever possible, Letti has managed to save time for her family, which includes her husband, Blake, and three daughters.  “My favorite title has always been ‘Mom,’” she confides. My daughter, Grace, is also a Flagler alum, and Sarah and Peyton live in the St. Augustine area.

“We are so lucky to live in this community,” says Letti.  “I love my family, and I love doing business here.”
