
Longan brings with him experience in managing complex investment relationships and a passion for history. He previously served as a Director for SunTrust Bank, Foundations & Endowments Specialty Practice in Richmond, Virginia. He has served on the Board of Trustees for Historic Richmond Foundation and Riverside School.

As a local leader always looking to strengthen his community from the inside out, Longan has been an active member of the Society of Cincinnati in the State of Virginia since 2001. Now in its third century of existence, the Society promotes public interest in the American Revolution through its library and museum collections and publications.
While acting as chairman of the Virginia Society Awards Committee, Longan oversaw the award of college scholarships as well as research and lecture grants at colleges and universities in Virginia. He currently chairs the Investment Committee for the Virginia Society.
Longan received his bachelor's degree in history from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
