A note from the chair

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, and Friends,

Thank you for your interest in the Humanities department at Flagler College! I can say, and obviously without bias, that we are a faculty of teachers/scholars who are committed to classroom excellence and the academic development of each and every one of our students.

The Humanities faculty are professionally engaged in their disciplines and active within their disciplines at the local, regional, national, and even international levels. What sets us apart, though, is that our professors incorporate their many talents and experiences into courses that enhance the student experiences and develop their skills as critical thinkers, strong writers, meticulous researchers, and clear communicators.

The classroom-centered emphasis provides our students with a high-impact educational experience that epitomizes transformative learning, embodies a respectful and inclusive community, promotes citizenship with integrity, and reflects thoughtful stewardship.
